Glossybox: First Impressions

A few weeks ago, I decided to order my first ever beauty subscription box, and I opted for Glossybox.

One of the main reasons I chose this box is because of it’s great price; at only £10 per month (plus postage & packaging at £3.95) this really is great value for money.

Each month, you receive 5 different products, which averages out at only a few pounds each, if you include the cost of P&P.

As well as this, Glossybox has worked with hundreds of different brands, which means you’ll definitely find out about new products, and potentially find something that you’ll fall in love with. Of course, this is the case with many other beauty subscription boxes, but regardless it’s still a very important factor! Plus, with Glossybox, not all of the brands are high-end, or well-known, and so it’s great to discover different companies that are often just as amazing as the brands we do know and love.

I will be reviewing some of the products in this box individually, but for now I thought I’d give you some of my first impressions on the subscription box.

What’s in this month’s box?

Oolution – Eye Love:

The 100% natural formula is hydrating and rich in antioxidants, helping to diminish dark circles and reduce puffiness, whether you use it at the end of a long day or the morning after.

I have incredibly bad dark circles under my eyes, so I am VERY excited to try this product out. As someone with very sensitive skin, I am hoping that this will do the job, as it has 100% natural ingredients.

Sleek Makeup – Eye & Cheek Palette

With four eye shades and two cheek colours, this ticks all the essentials and you’ll use EVERYTHING.

I really like the colours in this palette, particularly the eyeshadows, as they are super bright and summery. I am a bit unsure about having a palette with both eye and cheek makeup in it, as it seems a bit of an odd mix, but of course it’s not really something I can complain about.

This Works – In Transit Camera Close-Up

This primer balances, plumps and brightens skin, leaving it photo-perfect.

In my Everyday Makeup Look post, I admitted that I don’t tend to use primer as it doesn’t do much for my skin. So, I’m really looking forward to trying this product; a mask, moisturise and primer all in one, it might just make a difference.

Figs and Rouge – Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Vital Moisture Day Cream:

This moisturiser is all you need for lightweight but instant and long-lasting hydration.

This one I’m a bit unsure about, as it claims to reduce fine lines, and I’m just not sure to what extent that’s possible. But, who knows? Definitely worth a try!

Schwarzkope Professional – BC Bonacure Oil Miracle Brazilnut Oil Pulp Treatment:

Innovative argan powder particles gently remove impurities from hair, while macadamia nut intensely nourishes and UV filters help protect your locks from the sun.

This is another product that claims to do a lot, so I hope it’s as good as Glossybox suggest. But, I am also a little bit disappointed that it’s so small, as I can imagine wanting to use this regularly.

And, to make things even better, with this month’s box you also get a free Kale Moisturiser and 40% off – just enter the code FAB40 at the checkout.

I’ve never even eaten kale before, never mind used it as a moisturiser, so this will be interesting to try!

Overall, in terms of first impressions, this subscription box definitely seems worth the purchase. I’m loving the products in this box, and have already looked into some of the brands that I’ve never heard of before.

But, I’ll keep you updated as I try each product!

    1. Oh really? Why were you disappointed by Birchbox? I’ve actually been loving it but I’m only on to my second month. Only thing I would say is that it isn’t as good value for money! I would definitely recommend Glossybox though! x

  2. I have been questioning whether to go ahead with Glossybox for a while now, but after reading this it seems totally worth it! The fact it includes things like Nip & Fab is a win for me! x

  3. I always get a bit skeptical about trying subscription boxes because I’m not sure whether they’re worth it or not. These look like good products and i’d love to hear your thoughts once you’ve tried them!
